How it works
After you sign in, press Cmd+K on a Mac or Ctrl+K on Windows. You can do this from any page. Start typing. Results show as you type. An invoice number, phone number, VIN, or license plate jumps to the top. A misspelled customer name usually still finds them. You can also type the way you talk at the front desk. ShopWrk reads the meaning of what you typed, turns it into a search, and runs that search. A short heading above the results shows what ShopWrk actually ran, such as Jobs on January 4, 2026. That reading is how you tell whether ShopWrk understood you. Ordinary natural-language search does not use Quick AI credits. Credits apply only when you choose the explicit Quick AI path for a written answer. Exact invoice numbers, phone numbers, VINs, license plates, and simple name lookups stay fast. Those do not wait on interpretation. Click a result to open it. A customer opens their contact page. A job opens the job. An invoice opens the invoice. A conversation opens the thread. Search closes and you land on that record. Search looks through your current shop. You only see what your login can already open. Permissions still gate every result and every create command. When search vs Quick AI
- Use shop search when you want a list of records to open (customers, jobs, invoices, stock, unread messages).
- Use Quick AI when you want a written answer or a short conversation in the same box.
- Typing in your own words for search is still search. It does not spend Quick AI credits.
- If you need drafts, coaching, or a longer thread, open AI in the sidebar or click Open in full chat after Quick AI.
When the reading is wrong or empty
Empty results for an interpreted search still show the reading ShopWrk used. That helps you tell a misunderstanding apart from an empty shop (for example, no unpaid invoices right now). If interpretation fails because of a timeout, outage, or a bad parse, you get a distinct message. That is not the same as “no matching records.” Simple search still works in those cases, so exact numbers and names keep finding records. If the heading shows the wrong idea, edit the search text and try again. There is no interview or clarification dialog. Change the words until the reading matches what you meant. What you can find

Walkthrough: find overdue invoices in your own words
- Press Cmd+K (Mac) or Ctrl+K (Windows).
- Type
invoices more than 7 days overdueand wait a moment for the heading to show what ShopWrk ran. - Read the heading. If it matches what you meant, click an invoice in the list.
- If the heading is wrong, edit the text (for example
unpaid invoices past due) until the reading looks right. - If you only need invoice
1042, type that number instead. Exact identifiers stay fast and skip waiting on interpretation.

Use the keyboard
Use the arrow keys to highlight a result. Press Enter to open it. Press Cmd+K on a Mac or Ctrl+K on Windows while a result is selected to see other actions for that result.Find messages, calls, and voicemails

Check film and material stock
If you want to know what is on the shelf, ask shop search. Type a brand, product line, width, or shade. Results show on-hand quantity and how many usable rolls you still have. Press the right arrow on a family to drill into variants and physical rolls. You can also ask whether upcoming work has enough material. Trydo we have enough film for this week's jobs or which jobs are short on stock. ShopWrk answers from the stock on hand and how your services use that stock. If it does not know which stock a service uses, you get a clear next step instead of a guess. Different widths and variants are not mixed into one pool.
You only see inventory when your login can already open Inventory.
Look inside a customer
When a customer is in the results, press the right arrow to stay in search and see what is connected to them:- Jobs

Attach a customer with @
Type @ plus a customer name to pin that customer on the search. Press Tab when their name is highlighted to confirm it. After they are pinned, the next search or Quick AI question stays about that customer. Use this when you already know who they are and you want their jobs or invoices, not a list of people with a similar name.Ask Quick AI
Search comes first. Use Quick AI when you want a written answer instead of a list of records. When the box has text, a Quick AI action appears. Click it, or press Tab, to send what you typed. The search box stays where it is. The answer shows underneath. Natural-language shop search (typing in your own words and getting a result list) is separate from Quick AI. Search interpretation does not spend Quick AI credits. Credits apply when you choose Quick AI for a conversational answer. After the first answer, the box says Ask a follow-up…. Type the next question and press Tab again. That stays in the same thread. Click Open in full chat to keep going in the full AI workspace. That is the same conversation, not a copy. It also shows up under Recent chats on the AI assistant page. If search finds nothing, Ask Quick AI about… is the next step. Nothing is sent until you press Enter or Tab.Quick AI is a shortcut into the AI assistant you already have. For longer work like drafts or sales coaching, open AI in the sidebar.
