Custom contact fields
ShopWrk ships with sensible contact fields. When your shop tracks something specific, like a fleet account number or a warranty provider preference, create a custom field:1
Open the custom fields manager
Go to Settings → Data → Custom Fields and click New field.
2
Define it
Name the field and choose its type (text, number, date, or choice). Order it where it makes sense on the contact form.
3
Use it
The field appears on contacts immediately. Forms can bind to custom fields too; see Forms.
Importing from another platform
Moving from Tint Wiz, Urable, or a spreadsheet? Settings → Data → Import walks you through it:- Pick your source. Tint Wiz and Urable import directly; anything else uses a generic CSV upload with column mapping.
- Review the preview. ShopWrk shows how many customers, vehicles, and history records it found before anything is written.
- Start the import. Large imports run in the background; you’ll see progress and a completion summary.
Exporting your data
Settings → Data → Export produces CSV files for five datasets: customers, jobs, invoices, estimates, and services. Exports are the answer to three common moments:- Month-end bookkeeping: hand your accountant the invoice and customer exports.
- Before deleting a custom field or requesting shop deletion: export first, always.
- Moving off ShopWrk: take everything; it’s yours.
The audit log
Settings → Data → Audit Log records who changed what and when, filterable by area and team member. It answers the two questions owners actually ask after something looks wrong: who touched this record, and did the price change come from us? It’s read-only and always running. There’s nothing to configure; just know it’s there when you need to reconstruct an afternoon.Deleting your shop
Shop deletion is permanent removal of all shop data, available to Owners under Settings → Data. The flow requires verification with support before anything happens; nothing deletes at the push of one button. Before requesting deletion:- Export every dataset you might ever want again. There is no recovery after deletion completes.
- Cancel your subscription first if the deletion is because you’re leaving; see billing.
