When you sign in as a technician, the ShopWrk iOS app gives you a focused view of your workday. Your home screen shows a clock-in/clock-out control, all the jobs assigned to you today, a running count of your hours, and a preview of your most recent messages — everything you need to stay on track without needing to open the web dashboard. The bottom tab bar gives you access to the schedule, a quick-create sheet, your inbox, and the AI assistant.

Home screen

The technician home screen loads as soon as you sign in. Pull down on any section to refresh and get the latest data from your shop.

Greeting

At the top of the screen, a time-sensitive greeting welcomes you by first name: “Good morning,” “Good afternoon,” or “Good evening.”

Clocking in and out

The clock-in/clock-out card is the first interactive element on your home screen. It shows your current shift status and lets you start or end your shift with a single tap. When you’re off the clock, the card shows a neutral status with a prompt to start your shift. When you’re on the clock, the card turns green and displays a live running timer showing how long you’ve been clocked in. The timer updates every minute while the app is open.
1

Tap Clock in to start your shift

The button at the bottom of the card changes from Clock in to Clock out and the card turns green. A success haptic confirms the action.
2

Work your shift

The elapsed time counter updates while you’re clocked in. You can leave the app and come back — your shift is recorded on the server.
3

Tap Clock out to end your shift

The card returns to the off-the-clock state. A warning haptic confirms the clock-out. Your hours are saved automatically.
Clocking in and out is permanent. If you accidentally clock in or out at the wrong time, ask your shop owner to correct the record in the web dashboard.

My jobs today

The My jobs today card lists every job assigned to you for the current day. Each row shows:
  • Scheduled time — the time the job is booked for
  • Customer name — the customer the job belongs to
  • Vehicle — the vehicle being worked on, or the job number if no vehicle label is set
  • Status badge — a colour-coded label showing the current state of the job

Job statuses

StatusBadge colourMeaning

In progressBlueThe job is actively being worked on
Pending reviewYellowThe job is done but waiting for inspection or approval
CompletedGreenThe job has been marked complete
CancelledRedThe job was cancelled

If no jobs are assigned to you today, the card displays a “No jobs assigned to you today” message.
Job assignments are managed by your shop owner in the web dashboard. If you don’t see a job you expect, check with your owner or manager.

Time tracking

The Time card shows a summary of your hours for the day and the current week.
RowWhat it shows
TodayTotal hours and minutes clocked so far today
This weekTotal hours and minutes clocked since the start of the current week
A progress bar below the two numbers fills as you approach a 40-hour week, giving you a visual sense of where you are relative to a standard full-time schedule.
Hours are calculated from your clock-in and clock-out records. They update as soon as you clock in or out.

Inbox preview

The Inbox card at the bottom of your home screen shows a preview of your most recent messages. Each row shows:
  • The sender’s name
  • A short preview of the message content
  • A relative timestamp (for example, “5 min ago”)
An unread count badge appears next to “Inbox” in the card header when you have unread messages. If you have no messages, the card shows “No new messages.”
The full Inbox tab with conversation threading and reply functionality is coming in a future release. Use the ShopWrk web dashboard to send and reply to messages in the meantime.

Create

The Create tab (the + in the bottom tab bar) opens a quick-start action sheet shared with the owner experience. From here you can kick off any of the five most common creation tasks.
ActionWhat it does
New jobOpens a job for a customer and vehicle
New estimateBuilds an estimate to send for customer approval
New invoiceCreates an invoice to charge for completed work
New customerAdds a new customer and their first vehicle
New vehicleAttaches a vehicle to an existing customer
Full create flows for estimates, invoices, customers, and vehicles are being added in an upcoming release. Tapping those rows currently shows a “Coming soon” notice. New job creation is available now.

Schedule

The Schedule tab shows your job calendar.
The calendar view for technicians is coming in a future release. Use the ShopWrk web dashboard to view your schedule in detail in the meantime.

AI assistant

The Assistant tab (sparkle icon) opens a conversational AI interface you can use to ask questions about your jobs, customers, or shop operations. You can also view Artifacts — structured outputs the assistant has produced — by navigating to the artifacts screen within the Assistant tab.
Try asking specific questions like “What are my jobs for today?” or “What’s the status of the Johnson job?” to get the most useful responses.

Notifications

ShopWrk sends push notifications when new jobs are assigned to you, when job details change, or when you receive a new message. Tap any notification to open the relevant screen directly in the app. To manage which notifications you receive, go to your iPhone’s Settings → Notifications → ShopWrk.
